If you connect the VR31A to a TV Directly is
the problem still there?

Yes. Connecting to TV static noise is at the
same level as thru VCR to TV connection.

Check that the sending and receiving
antennas are pointed for best signal. Also
do you have a wireless network or 2.4 Ghz
codeless phone? Both are known problems. If
you have either item. Try turning them off
as a test. You may also want to try a
different channel on the X10 units.

Yes - wireless network Linksys WRT54G
Also, Dish (satellite) network

I have two X10 camera systems.
1. X10Cam (with Mic) is file. The high Db
noise is from the Spot light/Xcam which
doesn't have a mic. Without audio on the RCA
cable there is feedback coming through the
receiver Vr31A.
Also, without a motion-trigger there is also
high DB noise coming through to the TV and
VCR recorder. Disconnecting 5Ghz cordless and
by WRT54G and pc card has no effect on the noise.
Also, once the motion detector is tripped on
the Spot/Cam the unit never resets. This must
be done manually. Also, the motion detector
trips without any motion.
Do you think there is something wrong with my
Spot/Caam???

Since the noise is on the flood/camera with
no audio and not on the one with audio. You
are probably hearing the VR31As audio
receivers static and it maybe a normal
thing. If I connect a VR31A to my TVs audio
with no signals all I get is static, this
maybe true for video only cameras also. I
have no video only cameras to try.
Look at other mesaseges here in cameras
alsong with maybe security and automation,
as others seem to have problems with motion
sensors falsing and flood lights staying on.

Another clue on the static.
The VT38A Flodcam kit comes with a VR36A
video only receiver. The static in the audio
of a VR31a with a flodcam maybe normal.

Brian,
When Spot/Cam is triggered with motion there
is no static. But when Spot/cam reset (to
off) there is static from the Spot/cam. This
static spills over to video it is that
strong. I'm hoping my spot/cam replacement
will correct.
Last night I tried changing freq from 'A' to
'D'. There was no effect.

Never have I heard of high DB static coming
into a receiver (VR31), TV, VCR WITHOUT a
signal. It may be a design defect that the
VR36a does filter out static.

The audio part of the receive isn't
receiving any signal so all you get is
static. I doubt that X10 would spend one
penny more than it had to when desiging
anything. I doubt the audio part has any
squelch of static if there is no audio.
