piece of junk
« on: March 26, 2005, 10:44:35 AM »

I have been using X10 products for
approximately 5 or more years now. These
products are built by another company and
also handled by companies such as Lowes and
Radio Shack. These products are probably the
most worthless piece of junk I have ever
worked with!!! The parts are always failing
for no apparent reason. Every person I have
talked with that has bought these products
have had problems outside the normal
problems. I have had VCR commanders
replaced, sensors replaced, cameras replaced
and all this was just my personal products,
not friends that I have help sell these
product to (Yes, they now look down on me).
I am a 12 year journeyman electrician and
have dealt with communications for years and
security systems so I know bad product
design when i deal with it. What is even
worse is when their tech. support line
figures out that you know what your talking
about and they then decide that they have to
get off the line now and you received the
instruction sheet and YOU CAN HANDLE IT !!!!.
They are soooo right, I am going to handle
all of the products with their name on it
one more time, while Im headed to the
curbside garbage and put it in its correct
place. They should issue a recall on every
product they have sold because this is
apparently a scam as well as their tech
support help line.

It is JUNK. Intermittent reception. windows
xp crashing all the time. My pc hasn't
crashed in 3 months since I removed this
garbage software. X10 should be arrested for
fraud.

If you can't modify, stay out of the
kitchen.

I find it funny how some people can give
advice but can’t seem to follow there own.
They set here day in and day out saying how
bad x10 is but yet they keep on buying them
and then when anyone ask them what there
thoughts are on other products they can’t
or won’t say anything. S***   or get off
the pot.

I've been using X10 cams since 2000. I have
several that have been on for 5 years! You
have to situate the receiver in a central
location and adjust it or buy wired cams. I
have four of them running as webcams that
have been providing images for 3 years
without problem. What exactly do you expect
for the little amount of money you pay for
X10 equipment? You're not going to get
superb optics at that price! Mr. 12 year
communications expert, you should know what
quality equipment costs. Quit crying and
buy the expensive stuff!

J I agree. I guess they want a Cadillac for
the price of a VW.

I new for the price what I would get and
having fun changing it to work better. But
I still don't understand why people are
buying more when all they can do is bitch
and when ask where you buy from that is
priced the same but is better all they seem
to be able to say is (blank).
I have 8 units up and running and working
on the antennas now.
Light travels faster than sound, this is
why some people appear
bright until you hear them speak.

I understand that you get what you pay for.
But, regardless of price, I expect a product
that I pay for to work, properly, right out
of the box. If the advertising had stated
that I would have to write my own software
and drivers to make my cameras work w/ my
computer, I wouldn't have bought from X10.
Instead, I saw a lot of false advertising
that made me believe that, regardless of the
price, the product I bought would at least
work. It does not. I'm glad you're happy w/
your X10 equipment. I wish I was too.
