X10 camera deception
« on: March 04, 2005, 12:08:01 PM »

I purchased the X10 camera expecting it to
do all the website said. NOT TRUE! In order
to get on line and all the other benefits
you must purchase $300 worth of software!
The add is misleading and now I can't get
them to stop sending me spam mailers.

I don’t understand what system did you buy?
I bought a night cam and it came with
software and other free stuff and it is up
and running for me. The cost was $129.00.
Yes there are a few bugs I had to work out
but no real big deal. I am running 6 b/w
and 2 color cams and the only trouble I am
have is with the antennas, getting them all
to point to one central point is a real
headache but I well get it working real
soon.

Don't blame X-10 because you didn't read
the website properly.

The ads clearly state that you need
software to access from the web.  However,
once you buy the software you can access
any X-10 camera you own remotely.

If you buy the software in a package you
get it for free anyway ... so your $300 is
nonsense.

Have to agree... I bought the four camera
system for 267.00 and I got the Xray,
pan-tilt, multiview and webview software from
X10.  I need help with the multiview and
webview but CS sent it to me via email.
