recomendations for a security cam
« on: June 02, 2005, 12:24:03 PM »

I have a client who owns a liquor store and
wants to have video surveilance.  The
previous owner had a couple of x10 cams and
a VR31A base.  I setup 2 cams and the base
and the picture quality was ok on one cam,
but I got ghosting on the other cam.  Also,
I couldn't get both to work, I had to unplug
one to get the other to display, the remote
he has didn't work.
Needless to say, he is unhappy with these
and wants a better setup with nice clean
video so he can keep an eye on everything.
Would the Vangard system be a better choice
or should I look at something else
altogether? The zoom isn't as important as
the video quality and I would definitely go
wired as I understand that's it's much
better.  Thanks.

Yes Vanguard is better all around, much
better and clearer, but it must be placed
inside. Get same Vanguard here for 399 not
499,  http://www.automatedoutlet.com/home.php

Are these wireless cameras? Remember, there
should be no more than ONE wireless camera
transmitting at one time! The ghosting you
see is the other camera transmitting on top
of the other camera's signal. To get them to
work, you'll need a transceiver module to
plug into the wall that will receive the
signal from the remote control, or wireless
motion sensors, and send the correct signal
to the correct camera to control them. Then,
your system should work correctly.

Do the instant on cameras always override
the signal from the Xcam-2's?  Whichever
instant on camera is closest to my receiver
always overrides the other signals.  Ccan I
overcome this by swithing the cameras?
