XRAY Server/Remote Online Prob?!?!
« on: June 23, 2005, 02:33:51 AM »

I'm helping someone who had to replace the PC
that was being used for the following:

-(3) x10 cameras
-A Receiver plugged into a PC via the Vid to
USB converter.
-PC running XRAY Server.

The above seems to be working fine.  All
cameras show up; program is rotating through
each and logging the stills.

----------------------------------

When setting up the server, I got the
Installation Key and Passcode...it also
provided an IP and Port # during installation.

While watching the program...it seems to
upload the stills. I can see the
upload-in-progress line filling...while the
picture total adds up---it appears that the
file-group is going TO the server.

The computer uploading sits behind a Netgear.
I did not making is special changes in the
router....the pictures seem to have uploaded
(to somewhere).

HOWEVER---When I load the XRAY Remote
software on another computer (Retrieve Button
clicked / enter the Installation Key and PW /
Select "Online ImageBase")...a window will
very briefly appear that looks like it may be
a download progress screen....then a pop-up
message box appears that sez "There is no
pictures on the X10 Server."

While the grammar alone kinda troubles
me....I'm not sure where the problem is....is
it in the uploading or the retrieval?

Has anyone else had this problem and found a
solution?

THANKS

I've just read a few more support references
and come across the FTP upload option.

Does the process of uploading to X10's
servers (to x10's Online Imagebase)...then
connecting to it using the XRAY Remote
Software process actually work Well?

Or is it easier to just upload the images to
my own personal web storage using the FTP
upload option in HTML form...then just view
them with a browser?

I'd like to use the XRAY Remote and X10's
storage servers....but is it a huge hassle to
configure?

Any advice appreciated concerning this (and
my First post) is Greatly Appreciated.
