computer requirements

I am interested in setting up an X10 multi
camera system that would record to my computer.
Does the computer need a high end video card?
Or would a computer with on board video card
suffice?

i have a high end card on one and it works
great. i have a low end on another computer
with built in video it is ok until you try
to fast forward through video then it has
some distortion
