Sensor/Remote Battery Life

How often have you needed to change
batteries in the remotes (keychain and
palm) and sensors (window/door and
motion)?  I always hate doing this because
even though I am supposed to have 30 sec.
it seems I always need to reprogram.

the base unit will light or chime,I forget,
when it hasn't gotten a signal from the door
sensor in 4 hrs, I think.
Simply test the door sensors by opening the
door, if the light on the sensor doesn't
light.. change batteries. Same goes for
remotes. Most users will get about a year
without changing
