Zone light stays on
« on: October 09, 2004, 03:17:43 AM »

When a sensor is activated, the zone light
on the console turns on, then off in 10
seconds.  Frequently the zone light DOES
NOT  turn off which makes it impossible to
arm the system (without using bypass).
I am using repeaters and fresh batteries.
What more to do?  Anyone else with this
problem??  Otherwise the system is great!!

If I have a window open, the zone light stays
on until I close it ( magnetic switches ).
The motion detectors will light the zone
light, then turn off after 10 seconds.
Is your problem of light staying on, a motion
detector?

Hi Jim!

The zone lights on the console that don't go
off are indeed a motion-sensors, and
different ones at that!  This occurs
frequently!  The lights go off in 30
minutes, much too long.  I have changed
consoles and batteries and I use repeaters
to amplify signals.
Am I the only one having this problem??

Thanks, tamatohi

Have you tried tech support? If not, give
them a call at 800-442-5065 and see if they
can help.
Let us know what you turn up.

I am having the same problem, but I have
five motion detectors.  They
continuously “talk” to the console, as they
are supposed to do, but while sometimes the
zone lights go off after a couple of
seconds, they will sometimes at random stay
on for several minutes.  Meaning, 99% of the
time I am unable to arm the system because
at least one of the motion detector zone
lights is on and cannot be turned off.  Sure
I could bypass the offending sensors, but
that defeats the purpose of even having the
system, and there is no bypass button on the
remotes.

I called tech support, they have no
answers.

I hope the return/refund policy is good,
because that is my next call.

When mine does that I just walk by the
motion sensor and it talks to the console,
wait about ten seconds and set the alarm. I
think you are between "talk to" cycles and
the console did not "hear" it.  IOW,  you
may not be always getting an update due to
the sensor being too far away or its signal
being blocked to the sensor.  Try
repositioning them.

Thats what I've had to do as well.
