Will the Hawkeye motion sensors work with
the DS7000 that I just ordered?

In your opinion, do you think I'm better
off with the motion sensors than the window
sensors?  The reason I ask is that if
someone breaks a window and climbs through
to get in, the window sensors won't work as
the window would need to be opened.  I
don't think that someone would take the
time to open the window once it's broken
but would just climb through..  Then the
motion sensors would pick them up.

Thoughts?

why not have both, window sensor and motion.
most devices work with the base, but the doc
that comes with it (or can be found on the
web site) tell you what models they work
with.

I was thinking the same thing.. having
both.  I did look at the DS7000
documentation, didn't see anything about
the Hawkeye.  Wanted to order to try to
have everything for this weekend to install.

the hawkeye doc will tell you what base unit
it works with. you can get the hawkeye doc
in the web site before buying it, it's
probably a pdf file.

I doubt that the Hawkeye will work with the
DS7000. All of the security sensors have a
random ID code that the console has to learn.
Also the sensors have to report in that they
are OK every 4 hours or the console flags an
error condition. I believe in the Customer
Support Area in the manuals section. You can
download all the manuals to study before
making your purchase.

I'm almost positive that it will not.  I
have a hawkeye I use in basement to turn
lights on when it senses motion ... I was
tired of the wife leaving the lights on
when she does laundy.  As Brian said, the
security stuff is "special" ... regular
x-10 signals won't trigger the console.
