What happens after you get called from the alarm?
« on: May 19, 2005, 05:08:26 PM »

Hi!  Brand new to X10 stuff...

Just wondering what happens when your alarm
goes off (lets say you are at work and noone
is home) and you get a call.

You press "0" to listen in...

1. Does the alarm shut off or Reset at this
point?  Can you turn it off or reset it over
the phone?

2. Any way to check which "zone" triggered
the alarm?

Thanks!  Bob

I don't have a phoneline (so never set up
the calling) but I have set it off and
waited to see what happens... The siren goes
for about 4 mins then it turns off and re-
arms itself.

The alarm resets after about 4 minutes.
Listening in doesn't affect the shutoff
time, and you can't shut it off or reset
over the phone.  When you listen in all you
can hear is the siren on the console
(design flaw). You can't wait on the line
for the system to rearm and listen in when
it's quiet, because the phone disconnects
after 75 seconds.  The only way to tell
which zone tripped is by the led's on the
console; you can't determine that remotely.
