ss13a slimline
« on: June 05, 2005, 12:51:37 AM »

When I install the ss13a on a wall it does
not activate the switch.  However, when I
remove the ss13a from the wall and hold it in
my hand it works just fine.  Is anyone
experiencing a problem with rf range with
these units or am I just overlooking
something.  By the way the ss13a is about 20
feet from the receiver when attached to the wall.

Try as a test moving the antenna on the
tranceiver 90 degrees. That is if verticle
now try horizontal. I have seen a passive
radiator that folks construct that is used
for better range with that switch. I a cm15a
involved?

I dont think range is the problem.  I can see
the transceiver from where the ss13 is
mounted.  It just seems that something about
mounting it against the wall greatly reduces
the signal.  Because when I remove it from
the wall it works fine from that location.
Puzzeling.

Could be. I guess any metal near it may
alter the RF transmission pattern or absorbe
the signals.
