For the purpose of monitoring my dirveway,
I just installed the motion sensor (MS14A),
Mini Transceiver (TM751) and Chime (RSC15).
X10 advertises 100' range from sensor to
tranceiver. I'm getting about 15'. What am
I doing wrong? I've read all the online
support and chats already.

Anything between the motion sensor and the
tranceiver? 100' sounds a bit ambitious to
me.
