Powerhorn Model PH508

Can the PH 508 Powerhorn be used as an alert
siren, independent of any X10 Security
Systems. Say, using a TM751 Transceiver and
a Security Remote. What components would be
needed and what if any setup procedures?
Thanks,
Nick

No. The security remotes use a different
code format that standard modules and
tranceivers ignore. Largest problem will be
the PH508. It does not respond to a single
ON command. It needs a series of signals
sent to it at around 1 second intervals. The
series is either an ON-OFF cycle using the
House and Unit code it is set to, or a
series of All Lights ON; All Units OFF on
the House Code it is set to. All Lights Off
also works with the All Lights ON in the
cycle.

Can the PH508 siren be used with the old
Radio Shack Plug and Play. It calls for
a remonte siren CMC 61-2613. They look
identical.
Thanks,
John
