both eagle eye & active eye motion sensors
sends on signal with the slighest breeze, too
powerfull that way,They keep switching back
and forth.But won't comunicate
with, transeiver or repeater located in side
over 5 or 6 feet apart.not so good there.Any
suggestions?

stu

I had my share of problems with them,
especially range. My house is 3 floors, I
got my transcever and reciever on the 2nd
floor. I found the motion sensors have to be
a min. of the level of the floor of the 2nd
story (I use them outside). I did improve
things somewhat, by pluging in the
transcever, and running a copper wire
wrapped around it's antenna and running it
to a eyehook in the celing.
I opened up one motion detector and found
the antenna inside, cardboard tube with fine
windings around it, small about a 1/8 of a
inch. Going to try to solder the same type
of antenna out of a am / fm radio and mount
it externally.
Seems like the motion detectors transmit in
a straight line instead of all directions.

Stu; The coiled up wire may not be the
antenna. I believe it is an RF choke to keep
the RF out of the rest of the circuitry. You
can try it most it will do is not work.

Forgot to mention, the house is wood with
vinal siding and the detector has to be
directly out side to comunicate,no more than
5 or 6 feet either way horizontaly.

stu

burt, did you try the extend the antenna
trick with the transcever?
x10 is saying the range on these is 100 ft
but I never even got close to that..

Burt, I ahve the DS7000 system, I also
purcased two DM10A out door motion detectors.
Will they work together?

Brian H

DM10A is not a security sensor the console
will recognize. No it will not work.

Brian H

It may turn on and off the security lights
if on the same house and unit code.

If you have all of the motion sensors set to
a delay of longer than 5 minutes, then the
VCR will be taping an image from the camera
for the full 5 minutes.  If you activate a
camera with the CR12A remote, then the
camera will be on until you switch to a
different camera, or a camera see motion,
which will switch to that camera, and then
time out after 5 minutes.  You can use
multiple motion sensors set to the same code
to activate the same camera.  The only
downside of that set up is that the first
motion sensor will time out and turn off the
camera a bit sooner than the second one
which saw motion.  Likely at that point the
important action has been recorded, and if
there continues to be motion the camera will
be turned back on.Cris this is what x10
replied about more than 1 motiondetecrors.

Stu gonna try that tomorrow  thanks
