I just bought another X10 phone dialer
console because the first one died. This one
now is giving me a trouble chime but none of
the zones are lit up and the bypass switch
doesn't seem to do anything (my old bypass
didn't work either). I checked all my
sensors and they seem to be fine. Any ideas?

On your handheld remote (at the very
bottom), try sliding the switch to min, not
max. Do this on all of your handhelds, if
you have more than one. I was having the
same problem, and Tech support had me do
this, and it worked! Hope this helps.

My autodialler security console model PS561
chimes every hour for no reason.  I only
have two zones and it will often lose
communication with either of these.
Batteries are good, I have reinstalled
several times.

Any ideas what is causing this problem?

Is there anyway to reinstall a zone without
reinstalling the whole system?

I have the same problem with my DS7000.  I
get 5 chimes: apparent problem with 2 window
sensors - but unit chimes when they're
opened, so communication appears to be
working.  It has been a running joke with
friends that come over asking what the noise
is, but my wife and I are growing tired of it
(especially hearing it early in the morning).
Any suggestions welcome.
