keypad combination possible?
« on: November 03, 2005, 12:38:05 AM »

I am trying to find a way to make an x10
alarm be controlled by combination keypad.  I
would like real security instead of someone
just comming into my house and pushing disarm

I have seen in the forum how a remote can
be wired into a keypad. You will have to
solder the contacts of pushbutton arm to
the keypad relay and I would assume that
you have to do the same with disarm. I have
seen forum messages on this topic. You may
have to get a keypad with 2 relays in it.
Kepads are available through any automatic
gate company or the net. A favorite of mine
since I am a technician is a Linear
standalone keypad with 480 code capacity.
It has 2 relays and also has latching
capabilities. It can be powered by 12-24
VAC/DC. They also have battery powered
keypads. Check the web site for details.
