Big Red panic button
« on: February 08, 2006, 09:59:02 PM »

FYI, I replaced batteries in all my x10
stuff today after three years.  All still
had quite a bit of voltage left.  Anyway,
tried to reprogram my bit red button.  It
says to hold down red button and after it
blinks twice to enter in your code and unit
numbers.  After each entry it is supposed
to blink twice to signify it has been
programmed.   Mine will not blink back.
However it did once and when I tried using
it the alarm would not shut off after
releasing the red button( possibly because
the red LED stay on)  If I re-push the big
red button the red LED goes out but the
alarm keeps going.  Only way I could shut
it off was to unplug it and remove the
battery.

Anybody got any ideas what is going on.
This is about the third remote device (two
previous keychain remotes) that seem to
just decide to quit working properly with
no apparent reason, after functioning
correctly for several years.

Everything is fine now.  I was programming
the big red button wrong.  So I guess that
I did have a bad keychain remote once, but
the big red button is working fine.
