Can the X10 remotes be used to Arm/Disarm
the DS7000?

I just don't want to add another remote to
my keychain.  Plus the DS7000 remotes are
pretty ugly.

I was thinking about maybe using universal
mods and hardwiring to a DS7000 remote, but
that is a last resort.  Plus, I don't want
to do this without having a multi-button
pattern to trigger.  Or else, I'm asking a
huge hole in my security.  So, I have to
use smart-macros or something to setup for
multi-button (a code) trigger.

Meanwhile, just checkin to see if the
remotes somehow work with the DS7000
directly, and how secure it might be.

No. Only the security remotes can do that.
They use an extended type code if memory
serves me and as you know the securtiy
remote is registered with the console.

Makes sense.  Actually, makes me more
comfortable about the security of the
system.

However, I know that I can use a univeral-
mod, and short out the arm/disarm buttons
on one of the remotes.  And, I opened one
of them, and LUCKILY the switches are
surface mount, PB switches.  Not, the
cheapo pad contact switches.  So, tapping
into the contacts on the back side should
be cake.

First though, I need to buy some
accessories:  Some mini remotes, universal
mod, and smart-macros.  I need S-Ms so that
I can setup a series of codes with the mini-
remote in order to disarm.  Instead of just
one button.
