I purchased a Winland MTA-1 temp switch and
a couple of water sensors to use with
door/window sensor units. Needless to say,
it wasn't as easy as I thought. X-10
doesn't give you much info on the sensors
n/o or n/c so I ended up having to add a
relay and some extra batteries(rechargable)
to make it work. Now I have 2 water sensors
(one just for the water heater, I have a
lot of problems with the pressure relief
valves, 5 in 4 years) and a hi/low temp
alarm. It cost more than I originally
thought but still cheaper than sensaphone
and I can add almost any alarm device to
the x-10 alarm with the door/window unit.
It helps to know they are normally closed
only put out about 2v, and don't like
rechargable batteries.
