what will happen if I have a EagleEye motion
detector turn on my garage light when I pull
up into the drive way normally. Now if I
turn on the lights via the wall switch when
I am working out there and my wife pull in.
Then I'm sure the motion will send out a ON
command. Will it send out a OFF command
also. That would suck if a guy was under a
car or something. Or dose the wall switch
keep control of the light when turned on
locally.

The wall switch is an X10 type? If not no
X10 signals will turn it ON. Yes if the
motion sensor see motion it sends an ON. If
it is ON it stays ON; if OFF it goes ON. Rub
is as you guessed after the sensor times
out. An OFF is sent and the light will go
OFF.

well how is any one supposed to work with
modules auto shutting off lights. Will the
active home software filter our undesirable
offs with macros. Has anyone run into this
situation.

If you have the motion sensors on the
modules address it will control it directly.
If you use the modules signals to trigger a
macro. I can't say as I don't use an X10
computer controller anymore. Old AH cm11a
was getting old and AH didn't like XP. The
new AHP with cm15a [admited early unit]
never worked correctly for me and I got a
different brand controller. Just use their
modules sensors and remotes.

stuff. Have you gone to the AHP Forums? Yes
there is a whole set of forums devoted to
AHP. Go to any AHP web page and pick the
support tab near the top of the page; then

Cory, If your wall switch is sent to the
same code as the motion sensor, yes when the
motin sensor sends the OFF the wall switch
will respond. One fix is to not have the
motion sensor and light on same HCUC and use
a macro to turn light ON after receiving the
motion sensor ON. Since AHP will not know if
you are under the car, you will have to
always turn off the light manually. Another
fix if you desire the motion sensor OFF to
control the light sometimes, might be to
wire a mechanical light switch across the
X10 switch. When you did not want the
automatic control, turn the mechanical
switch ON which would short across the X10
wall switch (the two wire style switch),
disabling it.

I thought about the second switch idea. Was
going ask here someday if that would in
somehow be harmful to the X10 switch. I do
not have AHP yet and am not sure If I want
to drop the $$$ for it. Seem to me with out
feed back from the switch there will always
be something that will not work the way I
fell is proper.

Yes unless you have a two way switch that
can be asked its status or sends an on or
off when actuated. Things may get out of
sync.
If the wall switch is a two wire one.
Putting another switch across it will be
like turning off it's power. They steal a
small amout of power through the load even
when off, That is why they have a minimum
wattage. Real small lights glow dimly even
when off.

If you do not have AHP to intervene, then
when the motion detector times out and sends
the OFF siganl, your wall switch will always
respond since it is on the same HCUC. Ain't
no fix for that other than installing
the 'shorting" mechanical switch, which will
not harm the X10 (two wire) switch.
If you do not use the AHP "getting out of
sync" may not be an issue. If you do use
AHP, the out of sync problem may be an issue
since AHP will never know if you turned on a
light "locally".  The more expensive
solution as Brian noted is to use "two-way"
modules and wall switches. These will send
back a new status if they are changed
locally, and your AHP macros can take this
into account.
