Windows XP compatability
« on: February 01, 2006, 06:51:58 PM »

I've just upgraded to XP after a hard drive
crash. When I tried to load Activehome
(V1.3)from the CD, It loaded, but tells me
that some files aren't loaded. Am I going
to have to upgrade to the latest version in
order to continue to use my system?

May help but even the latest 1.43 isn't too
happy with XP.
Some have found that doing the following
sometimes helps:
Rt Click the AH Icon
Properties
Compatibility
Compatibility Mode: Windows 98/Windows ME
Disable Visual Themes
Turn off Advanced Text Services.
Mine kept disconnecting from the Serial Port
and had to be closed and reopened.

At first with Software installed, XP would
not reconize/find USB Port ( no
communication at all. )
Here is how i did...
Remove USB cable from putor and remove ALL
software from 'Windows delete program' ,
use ‘Custom` and at each step select ‘select
all’.

1_Now unplug USB port

2_ go to your "System" in your "Control
Panel", select "Hardware"  then "Device
Manager"

3_ Clic on the + of the " Universal Serial
Bus Controllers" here you should see one
with no "ID" or "mal functioning" or "Bold"
or "unknown device" i don't quit recall, but
it was evident. Select that one by right
clicking on it, then choose "Uninstall" and
confirm with "OK" and close all windows from
this process

4_ Now you go back to your "Control Panel",
select "Add hardware"
Before clicking on "Next" be sure to connect
to Internet , from here XP identified the
module.

5_ Install AH software and restart your putor

6_  ( if your program bugs like mine did, do
next step then restart putor)
as Brian H said.....
Rt Click the AH Icon  Properties  then
Compatibility
Compatibility Mode: Windows 98/Windows ME
Disable Visual Themes
Turn off Advanced Text Services.

here every thing went great so one by one I
reinstalled

Compatibility Mode to NT2
Enable Visual Themes
Turn back on Advanced Text Services.

Little long to do but it work
