I have an application where say I have
three rooms, each with an addressable
receptacle.  Now say I have 3 lamps, again
each with an addressable receptacle.  How
can I find out REMOTELY which lamp is
connected to which receptacle?

Unless you add more 2-way X10 equipment, the
only way I can see you being able to tell
which lamp is connected is install a red ,
green and blue bulb in each of the three
lamps.  Since you know where the physical
receptacles are, turn all three on, go
outside after dark  and look for the Red,
Blue and Green glow from each lamp.  You will
then know which lamp is connected to what
receptacle.

kidding only... with only the equipment you
have listed I see no way of telling ...

Seriously,
I suppose you could turn each room on 1 at a
time (after dark only) , cycle thru each of
the 3 lamp addresses.  Run outside after each
cycle to see if a lamp was glowing. Don't
peek into the room !  Look from a "remote"
distance to see if a lamp is glowing.
You could then determine what lamp was in
each room if you keep good records.   smile
again...

Or you could have 2-way modules connected to
each lamp, throw away the red,blue and green
bulbs, and just sit at your desktop and use
the "poll" function as you cycle thru each
room and lamp module address.  This assumes
you keep good records of what lamp is
connected to what 2-way module.

Bubba, IF the receptacles are on different
branch circuits, remove each of the light
bulbs and drop a penny in each socket and
replace the bulbs. Now while standing very
near your breaker panel, use a Palm Pad to
activate each receptacle one-at-a-time. If
no breaker trips, no lamp is plugged into
that receptacle, in that room. If a breaker
trips, a lamp is plugged into that
receptacle on that breaker. Observe the
label for that breaker to tell you what room
it is in.

Be sure and post your question on at least

(You can't do it without X-Ray vision, and
that would be the Superman kind, not the X10
kind...OK?)
