Ernest Leazer,

At this time, we do not support the transfer
of warranties. However; if you made the
purchase for your customer and performed the
installation - this is an opportunity to
make service calls on that product as long
as you have the receipt. Your personalized
service not only builds loyalty, but it
builds trust and repeat business.

So if I buy the product for a " in store "
shelf sale , I need to get the extended
warranty ? Correct ? I can not set it so
that the warranty starts at the time of " in
store " sale , but it starts from factory
sale date.
It's not a problem, I just want to make
sure I'm doing it right.  LOL   Thanks

I would certainly like to see the answer to
this question!  On items that we stock for
re-sale, the warranty period should start
when OUR Customer buys it from US, not when
WE buy it from YOU.  I see no policy on this.

As stated in an earlier post: we do not transfer warranties at this time. The customer has an opportunity to buy a longer-term warranty on an X10 product that you are reselling – good from the date of your original purchase.

Wow, I wish had researched this little bit of information prior to purchasing product for resale. I buy CCTV equipment from three suppliers other than X10, and all of them begin the warranty from the date of my invoice to the client. Even buying the extended warranty doesn't help much. If I hae an item on the shelf for 6 months, and I sell the client a 2 year warrany, the client really gets 18 months. How do you justify that?

Time to think about this aspect of the X10 contractor business model. ???
