 I would like  to start providing
instalation services as a  home business.
Does x-10 provide any  instalation
training?  I'm trining with my products in
my house but I need to know if I'm doing in
the right way, please  email me the

Please read the thread below with urls to
our knowledgebase, tech help, manuals, and
instructions - plus a url where you can
download a training video.
We are currently working on the concept of
live monthly "webinars" as an alternative to
training classes. Would you be interested in
this learning format?

The free  downloadable training videos on
x10pro.com is great and infomative, but if
you try and tell the costermer that kind of
stuff I think it would furter confuse them.
I think if maybe you could have some kind of
training as far as sales pitch demo. Just
thinking. Again I'd like to say hands on is
the best I think.

I was building a strawbale house and the
owner wanted remote stuff. So I went to
Lowes and bought alot of stuff for around
$200.  remote swiches and plugs, 120 & 220
volt, light swiches, timers. and even remote
controlers. At the time some of them were I
belive under a different name. Some also
came from Radio Shack. also alot of camera
stuff. The owner used all of it. I have plug-
and-power from some where, ( you know where )
in my house got them at the flea market same
stuff, different name, all works with X10
stuff.

I would be very interested in Web based seminars.  I have attended one class in Tampa and
that helped very much.  X10 needs to more of that for all of us.

I am very surprised that there is not a better response than every one wanting training and there not being any responses.

There is a very good manual from X10Pro called the Professionial Design Manual.

I sent an email to my sales rep in late May 2006 that it should be required reading before anyone can call themselves an X10 distributor.  My first order as a distributor would have been a lot easier had I had that manual.

It has all kinds of information about electricity and which switches to use for incandescent and which ones to use for flourescent fixtures and a whole lot of GREAT information.

It costs around $40 and worth every penny, too.

Have an idea.  Why doesn't x-10 have a downloadable one file of the knowledge base, troubleshooting, and anything else they can put in there for our help.  That way instead of printing one sheet of what you need you can print everything at home, put it in a binder like I did.  Then you can read the binder you made in your spare time.

Going to the knowledge base now and looking at one particular item is fine, but it's not going to stick in your mind unless you read again or do the same action again.

This should be pretty easy to do.  Take the whole knowledge base, put it in one file to download.  Same thing with the trouble shooting, one file to download.  And anything else (like user manuals) one file to download.

Download all these, print them out, put them in a binder and walla you are done.  Also here's another tip: every installation you do, even your own house make a floor plan before you start.  Then write down where you put everything when it worked.  Little notes on it for what you had to do to make it work.

Then when done, make a copy put it in your binder.  x-10 wouldn't be out any money, and we would have very good help/training manual.

I had a heck of a time downloading all the stuff on there website and I'm still not done, but i do have a pretty good portion done.  Lot easier if it was in one file.   Just and idea.
