I installed a phase coupler in my panel
according to the instructions and I have
several outlets that a wired mini-
controller still won't work from. Has
anyone had a similar problem?

XPCP,

Problems communicating on power lines can be
caused by one of two things. 1) A phase
issue, in which the X10 power line carrier
signal is unable to "jump" from one phase of
110v power to the other in a home. A phase
coupler, mentioned in this post, fixes a
phase issue. Or 2) Line noise. Line noise is
can be caused by almost anything plugged
into an AC outlet.

I don't know your backround and so don't
know your electrical problems. I have run
into older homes where the owner has
installed his own outlets. They have been
known to reverse the hot and neutral leads.
This will work fine for a light bulb since
they don't really care, but with respect to
ground our x10 devices use the hot lead to
xmit the signal. make sure you are using a
three pronged recept and check the hot side
with respect to the green or ground wire. I
have been suprised more then once. Just a
thought?
