Trouble Starting AHP
« on: March 11, 2006, 07:56:11 PM »

Hello All , Newbie here ,  I just installed my AHP . When I click the AHP icon on my desktop  I get a windows installer appears for ATI Remote Wonder 2 . (I used to have ATI Remote Wonder 2 but uninstalled it way before I purchased AHP) I have to cancel the installer 4-5 times before AHP starts . Also when I try to use AHP's toolbar items , the installer runs again . And again I have to cancel the installer several times . Any searches or what am I missing that needs to be deleted to stop this . ???       Thanks Joe

Where does the Icon come from?
Where did you link it to? Program files\common files\X10\EXE file?

How long since a reinstall of PC?
Old video drivers in there somewhere?

  • The icon is from AHP install and I went to the AHP program folder and same with the exe icon there .
  • I did not link it the AHP install  placed it on my desktop .
  • What do you mean reinstall . If you mean AHP just got it . If you mean XPpro about a year since I installed XPpro.
  • My video drivers are up to date . Also I have a nvidia GeForce 6600GT (factory) overclocked. I game regularly
Since I posted this the ATI Remote Wonder 2  installer window does not show up as much when I use the tool bar in AHP. Seems to be getting better if that is possible .
Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks Joe

to start off, have a look at my post here...
AHP Software Problems v3.201

in #3 on my list is a compatibility problem with ATI, I would wonder what hardware ATI all in wonder 9XXX you have? also what FCC ID is on the back of your ATI remote? If you have different hardware then what I have listed there I would like to add it to my list.

as for your problem....   when you install AHP it states to plug hardware in AFTER you have started installing the software (not before)
It will install the software then tells you to connect your hardware NOW. this is when to plug in your CM15A. AT THIS Time what does the AHP program tell you it is Installing? does it say your CM15A  or does it tell you its installing more even though you only plugged in the CM15A at that time?
Also, when you plug in the CM15A windows will say new hardware found, you should cancel those as those do not apply to your CM15A and AHP install. that is windows installing your ATI product. you may have installed hardware now but not software? ATI uses a variation of the X10 CM19A (AHP states it is) windows states the CM15A is ATI when you plug it in.

I think I confused self there, let me know what it says during install?
make sure during reinstalls, you reboot and check your hardware section and remove them there if needed.
delete your X10 directory under Program Filescommon filesX10*.*
and try a search after, if there are other X10 files under windows...  it most likely is your ATI remote.

I would need to know more about your multiple video card setup when you switch ect

Thanks Mystyx . I found in my C:\Program Files\Common Files an ATI folder which was not deleted when ALL my ATI items where uninstalled. I do not have any ATI items any more .
The more I use and find old ATI folder (which I think I found them all) its almost doesn't bring up the ATI installer.
Do you think I should uninstall AHP and delete all folders and do another install ?

Thanks Joe
