PLWO2 vs WS4777
« on: May 12, 2006, 02:59:35 PM »

I'm new to x10 and having fun with it so far.  One question, what is the difference between the PLW02 (3-way wall switch) and the WS4777 (also 3-way wall switch)?  The PLW02 is listed as "Pro" and has comes with a 2 year extended warrentee.  Is there any other difference?  In AHP I noticed that there is an option to for a WS4777 control but don't see PLW02 (which is what I bought).

Thanks,
Greg

Basically the same. Should be interchangeable.

As you add more devices you may find others that aren't in AHP configuration. Using the device in AHP configuration which is the closest in spec to what you install will usualy work! ;)

Thanks for the info guys.  I was hoping that was the answer.  I'll give it a try this weekend.

Glad it help. One other point. Sometimes you may order an X10 module by part number and get a retail blister packed module with a different retail part number on it. Again pick the web based number and it should work.
Example Chime Module X10 #SC546A; Retail #RSC15A

Gotcha.  I have a feeling I'll be ordering more modules before too long ;D
