Handheld controllers switch cameras but AHP does not.
« on: July 22, 2006, 02:23:04 PM »

New Installation.  I have one appliance, one lamp module, and two video camera modules set up for test using AHP and My House Online.  I am able to turn light and appliance modules On & Off via AHP and over the Internet via My House Online (Really works great!).  However, I am not able to Scan or switch between cameras via software. eventhough, I am able to control everything including camera Switching/Scanning/Panning/On-Off with the Hand Controllers.  I have moved modules all around have hardware to tie house phases togeather all to no avail.  I shudder to think that I got this far and connot software switch among the 4 camera installation that is planned.

Open for, and really appreciate any suggestions that might lead me to a solution.

Thanks for listening,

Robert

Well, I solved my own problem.  I am able to switch/scan cameras in AHP and over the Internet by putting a transceiver with the same house code at each camera receptacle.  Inconvenient and more costly yes, but it works, which is very important to me.

It would be nice to know what component in my system is not doing its job.  Since I have already found one addressable power supply (XM13A) bad on delivery I would suspect that their receiving sensitivity is not as good as it should be.  I don't believe it is the CM15A interface controller sending a weak signal because it does OK on other modules.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Just be careful about having more than one transceiver on the same HC. If their signals ever overlap you'll have even more problems. Also turn off the HC that you're using in AHP.

I'm wrong again.  In reading our community Administrators "Problems?  Read Me First" post.  My problem was that I changed things in AHP before I knew what I was doing.  Our Administrator, on a similar problem, suggested that the problem might lie in "Hardware Configuration" > "House Code Selection".  I had taken the selection criteria off automatic and placed it on specific Transceiver House Code Selection and then added a house code "D" that was not set.

Look at "Problems?  Read Me First" > "House Codes don't work." for a better understanding about what I'm talking about.
