Typically an "audible, panic alarm" is triggered either by a button connected to a zone input that has been programmed to be active 24 hours a day, send a code to the monitoring station and set off the siren, or by a built in button or key sequence activated at the alarm keypad.
Thanks. I'm familiar with that. I had never heard it called "audible, panic alarm". If he had just said "panic alarm", I would of been clear.
The distinction is that you can also have a "silent, panic alarm" that doesn't set off the siren or otherwise show up locally, but sends a signal to the monitoring station.

In the real world, the only constant is change.

"silent, panic alarm" is a term that's familiar. I'm surprised I wasn't able to "connect the dots" to the term "audible, panic alarm".
Must of been a brain skip.

I had a house that the powerline intercoms would trigger the "save me" macro.  rofl
