Title: Socialite remote
Post by: dbemowsk on September 18, 2010, 11:38:06 AM
I have heard some negative opinion on the nstinct remote and that people liked the old IconRemote better.  Perusing through the X10 site I saw the socialite remote (http://www.x10.com/promotions/ir33a_ed_soc_si.html) that looks exactly like the old IconRemote.  Has anyone used one of these?  How much different is this from the old IconRemote if at all, or is this just an IconRemote with some PC software?  In the ad for it they refer to it as the IconRemote RF in a few places and show the twitterface software.

The "Whats Included" information says IR32A which was the original Icon RF.
Though I thought some had tried ordering the IR32A. Just as the new IR34A was being released and X10 substituted the NStinct IR34A.
Since it also has a CM19A Tranceiver in the kit. It would need either the IR32A or IR34A Icon with RF transmitting for the CM19A.

The original Icon is an IR10A

I think the "Socialite Remote" with interface to Facebook and Twitter fell flat on its face. Who is really interested in knowing that I am watching CSI, or that I gave it a thumbs up? Seems pretty shallow to me, but who knows, maybe that's where society is at.

Does the new endstink Nstinct remote have the Facebook, Twitter interface?
