Title: My Ultimate WM Pro
Post by: Tuicemen on June 13, 2018, 10:35:35 AM
My Idea for a Pro WM would be simular to my CM15A Pi Zero W mod.
This allows for back up and restore of the complete setup as well as future expansion via the mini SD card.
Any Pro design needs two way RF and the ability to talk to all possible x10 addresses as well as X10 security codes.
If it can't do at least what the CM15A can then it isn't a pro unit.

It should duplicate all features available with the CM15A and ActiveHome Pro with more memory and a better RF receiver.  It should include some basic math functions ( + - * / ).  And it would be nice to have direct control of ALL X10 commands in macros.

I want to be able to send the exact sequence P9 - P8 - P2 - P2 - P_DIM, and read the 32-level pre-set dim command that is echoed back in response.  The pre-set dim is a great way to read analog values.  And then that pre-set dim value could be used in a calculation to do something.

First pass.
From a hardware standpoint, what Jeff said: "It should duplicate all features available with the CM15A and ActiveHome Pro with more memory and a better RF receiver".
From a software stand point:
1. math and
2. simple scripting functions for report generation.
Along a similar line
3. I would like to able to see how long the well pump ran last month, etc. So would have tracking / accumulation functions.
4. Also would be nice to have AHP calculate energy usage estimates by tracking how long specific modules are ON (user would have to program AHP with wattage of whatever the module is controlling).
5. Have Alexa skill
Following would be nice to have for testing
6. In macros controlling many modules, have the ability to temporally disable specific modules.
7. Have the ability to temporarily disable specific macros.
And what Tuicemen said:
8. "needs two way RF and the ability to talk to all possible x10 addresses as well as X10 security codes."
And have all this before 2025.  :'

rofl
The hardware side of things seems to be faster at getting done then the software.
Since I expect this (if implemented) to be  just expansion of the current hardware, the basics are there.
Simply adding RF daughter boards would enable this to do more then the CM15 with the right software. ::) :'

This multi Phone app development of the WM100 is nice but a web interface instead could be accessed from anything.
A nice customizable web interface would speed up software development by at least 50%
