plans, set up ETC.

Beyond the 15% discount at $500, what other
sales incentives does the X10 Contractor
Program Provide? Also, if we were to join the
X10 Installers Program, what hit rate could
we expect in North Florida? Also, are
installers limited to a given region of the
U.S.

We do not restrict installers within the
U.S. and Canada, and currently, the database
is only searchable by the zip code you
entered in on our sign-up form.
If you have a physical address in another
location, you would need to sign up again as
an installer in that state with the
corresponding zip code.

page, sorry about that. We have a great news
announcement for Video Sender, which pulled
up in front of the previous URL anchor.
But it is there that you can sign in, since
you are a contractor already. Once signed-
in, your home page will come up. If you
haven't done so already, there is a unique
special posted on the left side of the page.
Also, at the top of the page, it explains
your volume discount - 15% for purchases
over $500, and just below that are your
special deals (I count 7). Below that are
specials from the x10 website, with a link
to more specials.
Once logged in, all prices show you what the
cost is with the 15% discount so you know
totals at a glance.
If your page does not reflect this, please

We have Power Over Ethernet cables for the
IP500 and we also have Toshiba's NETCAM 2-
WAY AUDIO. There are several more products
on our website that support this fairly new
technology(it's been around approx. 5
years). You can find POE products by putting
in 802.3af in the x10 search field on the
top right of our home page.

what kind of contractor you are. Currently

products do not support 802.3af technology.

Managing multiple vendors/suppliers on a
given project is common. We like to keep
the number to a minimum.

products from different manufacturers - all
of which you can order from our site.
On 802.3af POE compatible products,
specifically: X10 does not manufacture
products that support this technology, but
you can find other manufacturers on our
website that do by entering in 802.3af in
our search window (I think there are 9

certificate from your company that we are
approved contractors for you would be a
tremendouse aid as a marketing tool for us.
What is the possibility of getting
something like that from you. Your prompt

I am glad you asked this question because we
are in the process of evaluating our current
program. Are you looking for an
official "X10 certified" logo to put on your
site and printed materials? Or would you
like information in the installer search
that shows what kind of training you have?

I agree with Bob - an "X10 Certified" logo
would be very nice, especially for web
presence / printed materials.

I have enough knowledge to install the X10
modules (wall switches, etc), however I am
not a licensed electrician. Can I still
install the modules or do I have to hire an
electrician to do it? I know how to install
everything and (most importantly) how to
configure a complete system (hardware &
software setup), but if I have to pay
someone else to actually install the modules
and then charge something on top of that, I
won't be left with much...

X10 offers the contractor database and
referral service as a courtesy and only for
informational use and reference. It is up to
the customer to decide if your
qualifications suit their needs. Having said
that, we are looking into a certification
program that would require specific -
verifiable - credentials in order to
advertise an "X10 Certified Installer" logo.
This would be in addition to the program
that is currently in place.

2 questions, the ads you send me, do they
reflect the contractors price or is that the
retail price? second question, do you have a
demo that contractors can purchase?

Contractor Program!
The flyers that you can download from the
Pro site do not have any pricing on them.
You can either put stickers on them
yourself, utilize the imprint area to hand
write or affix a price label, or have a
separate price sheet with your services
built-in (as an example).
The two kit SKUs shown in the flyers
(automation and security - the only 2 we
have right now) can be used as a demo kit.
If you are looking for a different demo kit,
let me know what you have in mind. I am
currently working on an entertainment kit
