Title: MyHouse Online and SSL
Post by: JC_Carreiro on March 23, 2006, 08:07:51 PM
Are there any plans to use SSL with MyHouse Online in the future?  Another gentleman asked this question a while ago but did not get an answer or at least I haven't seen one.

We're not going to use SSL per se, but we will use the SSL ports in the next release (making it so you don't have to have port 8001 open to use MyHouse) and we are currently signing all the data that we transmit (as of 3.202).

any additional info on when port 8001 will not be needed (or converted to the ssl port)? I am unable to connect from my office due to firewall rules that has port 8001 closed.

The change is in effect. If you download and use 3.203 on your AHP system and have the 3.203 version of the client, communication is no longer on port 8001.

Thanks for the reply...So accessing AHP remotely using myhouseonline only uses port 80? if not, what other ports does it use...I still cannot connect from my office

Thanks for your help!
