I tried to operate a Halogene lamp(110V Bulb) and a Fluorescent fixture(40 Watts) with my old LM465.
All run Fine !!! (no heat).

But why does its not recommanded to install these fixtures on LM465 ?

The LM465 is a dimable light module and shouldn't be used on a fluorescent light (transformer inside). Also allot of halogene lights have transformers in them which can't be dimmed by the module.

I don't know if anyone has tested the LM465 on these types of lights if the module is set to full (100% bright) and left there long term.

Inadvertently dimming a Lamp Module connected to a transformer or ballast could cause these components to overheat.

If the halogene light is 120 volt filament and not a transformer type. The LM465 should have no problems. Two wire Wall Switches; that dim and not a relay type; steal power through the light could in some situations have a problem. Due to the lights higher resistance.
Fluorescent with a older ballast or a low voltage transformer light could damage the Lamp Module or the light itself. New electronic ballasts are no better with dimming modules.

Now dimable CFLs that I have tried will work in the lamp module but not wall switches. I also found the plain X10 Lamp Module worked much better than a fancy one with a slow ramp up and down with dimming CFLs.

When you write CFLs, what do you mean ?

Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb. Energy saving type bulb. I use them all over the house. Like a 13Watt is about the same light as a 60 Watt regular incandescent light. Many are a spiral tube like a cork screw and screw into the standard light socket.
No not ignorant. Many of my work customers are from other countries and clarifying things is no problem.
