I have a Homelink equioed car. How do i
program it and my x-10 lampo modules to
work together.
Also, is there a way that I can program the
homelink to do garage and lamp module at
the same time the garage door opens?

Do you know if yours can do X10? Some models
can others can't. On the Homelinh web site I
believe there are instructions on how to
program it. Do you have any X10 Tranceivers
to receive the signals if it can do them?

You can have more than one device on the
same X10 address. So more than one device
can be controlled by the same code if
desired.

I believe you need the HomeLink Vehicle
Interface (a special transceiver).  You can
order one from the Homelink website
(https://secure.homelink.com/secure/shop.taf).
Alternately, I gather the Black&Decker
Freewire transceiver is compatible with
"select 2001 and newer HomeLink equipped
vehicles."

I called HomeLink yesterday and they
indicated to me that any HomeLink equipped
vehicle should work with any X10 or Freewire
transceiver since neither X10 or Freewire use
rolling codes (only 1998 or newer vehicles
support rolling codes).  I haven’t had a
chance to test this yet though.

Apparently the advantage of the “Vehicle
Interface” is that you can make a button
toggle between on and off instead of always
sending either on or off.  I don’t know if
once programmed you can then use any
transceiver and get the toggling action, or
if you need to still use the “Vehicle Interface.”

To program HomeLink to send an X10 RF code,
you probably need to do the following (once
again I haven’t tested it yet):

1.  For first time training, press and hold
the two outer HomeLink buttons, releasing
only when the HomeLink indicator light begins
to flash after 20 seconds. (Do not perform
this step when training the additional
HomeLink buttons.)
2.  Position the X10 RF transmitter* 1-3
inches away from the HomeLink surface
(located on your visor), keeping the HomeLink
indicator light in view.
3.  Using both hands, simultaneously press
and hold both the desired HomeLink button and
the desired X10 RF transmitter button. DO NOT
release until the HomeLink indicator light
flashes slowly and then rapidly. When the
indicator light flashes rapidly, both buttons
may be released. (The rapid flashing
indicates successful training.)

* Since pushing and holding keychain a
remote's button is used to program it, you
might need to use a PalmPad or similar remote.

Homelink and the X10 transceiver play very
nicely together.  Set mine up yesterday to
use on house and porch lights.  Only issue
is that I must use two Homelink buttons -
one for on and one for off.  Since my car
has three buttons, that is not a problem
for me. Used the Palmpad for programming
and the Homelink learned the X10 code very
quickly.  Hope this helps.

Quipper:  Thanks for the update!  I hadn’t
had a chance to try it yet.  I am looking
forward to setting it up.  The “issue” you
mentioned can apparently be resolved by using
HomeLinc’s “Vehicle Interface” which will
allow you to use a button to toggle between
on and off.  This benefit isn’t worth the
cost in my mind.

triggering on or off with one button?

Did you use the Homelink txcvr or just a regular X10 one?  I tried programming my HL transmitter in my Tahoe (2001) and it appeared to learn and be programmed, but nothing happens when I txmt from it.

Has anyone been able to program Homelink using a KR10A? I've tried over and over again. Homelink can't seem to learn the KR10A. I used the SH624 successfully, but it sends a long repeating code instead of the short code that the KR10A sends - and I don't like the way AHP handles the longer signal from the SH624. Just FYI, I have the front porch light flash once when the DS7000 is armed, and two flashes on disarm via macros in AHP.

I've thought that perhaps the KR10A signal isn't strong enough, and I have contemptated using 4.5 Volts (using three 1.5V batteries) on the KR10A (to boost the signal) instead of 3 volts. I'm just a little concerned about destroying the KR10A in the process. Has anyone ever tried overpowering a KR10A???

Any ideas or experiences with Homelink and the KR10A's?

I doubt that the signal level is the problem.  It's difficult to make firm statements about X10 components because the X-10 company makes product changes with no notice, but the SH624 and KR10A I have send quite different RF signal formats.
