How do you program socket rockets?
« on: March 04, 2011, 11:47:41 PM »

I read somewhere that when you install a socket rocket you have thirty seconds to program the code to it.
By send the on signal three time it would learn that code.

Is that true?  I tried it, but nothing happened.   >*<

Any help for the newbie would be much appreciated.

Do a search here for how to program a Socket Rocket.   It is already been posted in the X10 Forums.

The Socket Rocket is only in the programming mode for the first thirty seconds after power is applied.
If you wait too long it will not take.

If the socket rocket is not seeing the power line signals it also will not program or work from X10 commands.

What controller will you be using to program them?

Now yous isn't stuck on all the time is it?
If it is always on even when first powered up. It has failed.

The wiki also has this information.

Also, when programming, use an incandescent bulb. I have tried programming SR when a CFL was installed and had it not program. Not sure why, the SR load should not effect programming, but I had trouble. Also have the programming controller plugged into same outlet as the lamp the SR is in.
