I'm having difficulty playing videos that I've uploaded to the SD card. I've sometimes gotten .avi and .mp4 formats to work once or twice, then they quit working with an error message that says "Can't play this video". I've downloaded several different players from the market but they all end up doing the same thing. I've tried converting the videos to different resolutions but still not having any luck. Anyone have any ideas??

I have had great results with MX Video player.

Post here has some of the Apps which have worked well for me.

My avi files
Audio  codec a52 serial Rate 48000 Bitrate 256
Video Codec Dx50 Frame Rate 29.97

These are the setting which also work well with my WD TV Live.

Can you put the SD card in another device and play the videos? Can you copy the videos back to the Airpad and play them from internal memory and not the SD card? Can you copy the videos from the SD card and play them in anything else? Just want to rule out the SD card.

I've copied them to the internal SD card as well to try and play them and still get the same results. I can play them from the external SD card in another device.

Have you tried completely powering off the device and rebooting? Maybe even go as far as resetting to factory? Once they stop playing it seems they won't play at all anymore? If you have tried even resetting the device to factory and they still don't play you might want to try a different player as everdayflyer suggested.

Have you considered converting using WinFF (gui for ffmpeg) or Handbrake to convert to native Android  format H.264 mp4?  In other Android tablets I have owned in the past, going above certain screen resolutions like 480 x 360 px won't work.   Native video will take advantage of any built in hardware accelerators saving battery power.... assuming they bothered putting support in the OS for the Airpad.

Has anyone been able to watch episodes of tv shows from the major networks websites?
If so, what software (app) are you using? I'm learning first android device.
would appreciate any feed back!

Yes,  can watch full episodes. I just watched Big Bang using Opera Mini -Brrowser at www.cbs.com/shows/big_bang_theory/video/?x-akamai-mobile=tablet and it played well.  Took almost  half minute to buffer but no problems after.  Keep in in you will need a good connection with high speed.
