Can you view 4 wireless cams at the same time?
« on: January 24, 2007, 08:35:28 PM »

I have 2 low-light B/W cams and 2 instant on wide eye color cams.  I'm having trouble figuring out a way to view all 4 at the same time.  Anybody have any suggestions???

Thanks

You can use a Quad Processor. It will put four video cameras into one video output.

You can't run more than one at a time. The wireless signal from one will interfere with another one. That is why X10 groups them in 4s 1-4;5-8;9-12 and 13-16.  Turn on any one of them the other three automatically go off.

Your right Brian H! I missed the "wireless" part (I feel dumb).

You would need to have 4 separate receivers (all set on a different code) and spread the addressable power supplies over at least two different house codes. Doesn't really sound worth it, and very likely at least one of the camera/receiver channels would have interference from something.

I guess if the cameras where on opposite sides of the home. Each in theory could only broadcast to the one facing its antenna. I have seen that cameras on the back side of the receivers antenna have very poor range. Long shot not guaranteed to work 100% or at all.
