Just the (AHP) drivers, please
« on: April 08, 2007, 09:10:51 PM »

I am running AHP, with BXVC (Bill's X10 Voice Commander) . But I have loaded my AHP software on my good computer, and now would like to control the AHP interface (through BXVC) on a stand alone (older) XP computer.

Is there some sort of driver install, that would allow me to do that?

I could still continue to "program" the AHP on my original PC. I just need to control it through BXVC.

Dave,

I believe you cannot use BXVC to control AHP on another computer. BXVC will control AHP on the same computer that BXVC is on.

I suspect Bill will tell you the same thing. Check out the very long BXVC Thread in the Third Party Add-Ons section. It covers everything about BXVC.

Yeah... I want to move the AHP interface, to another (meaning one that doesn't have the AHP software) computer. Then on that computer (with the softwareLESS interface, also install the BXVC software, to control the AHP.

I should have been clearer. It's been on my mind so much.. I guess I assume everyone should have "heard me thinking" about it.

Yes, Dan, Dave and I have discussed his situation via YIM.

Basically, he is in the same boat as any of us that get a new computer and want to move AHP and their CM15A to it.   Waiting on X10 to provide him with a new download link so that he can re-install the software he has purchased on the new machine!

Meanwhile, he was hoping to find a way to just install the CM15A drivers and AHP service that are necessary for BXVC to function while he waits for X10 to supply him with a new download link.

Any thoughts anyone?

The SDK re-distributional files should do it! X10dispatch has them on his site:  SDK Redistributable Components
Note: this will allow you to interface with the Cm15A but not upload to it or fire any macros which need AHP running!

Slightly off-topic, but quoting from above
"Basically, he is in the same boat as any of us that get a new computer and want to move AHP and their CM15A to it.   Waiting on X10 to provide him with a new download link so that he can re-install the software he has purchased on the new machine!"

I copied my files to a CD immediately afterreceiving/downloading them.  I also backed that CD up.  I have almost all X10 ware on a single CD.  If you have your registration code, I can send any of the ware you need if you like?

Hey thanks waterstom! However I called X10 (with my confirmation email info) and they fired me out a new email link.
