....I personally think all those door and window sensors can be exchanged for one, well placed, motion detector.

The bad thing about all alarms... are they only alert you after a break-in. A sensor at the door/window... may scare away an intruder at the point of entry. A sensor inside the home means the intruder must actually intrude. I believe we should start intrusion prevention OUTSIDE the home.

I have an old threat about that:  http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=13351.msg74400#msg74400

Ok I finally got my stuff in.  I have a question about the W/D sensor.  The way my old house is does not seem to allow me to mount the sensors straight arrow to arrow.  can I have them in a different configuration?  Thanks for your help.

I faced a similar situation. I just piled a couple/few of the sticky pads together to get the even depth. Plus those sensors can be slightly apart.

I used a dollar store white vinyl cutting board and a bit of (by-the-foot, cut what you need) white vinyl trim from a Home Depot.. to make spacers.

I figured out how to mount the paower house unit on the actual window.
