Without knowing more about the water heater, it's hard to say. I can tell you that most water tanks around here are rated at 30 amps (mine draws 70
), which is 10 above the rating of the xps2. I kinda doubt that the x10 switch would count as a disconnect anyway. I know that I sure wouldn't trust it in this case.
