What you can do.... is feed your NON-cablebox basic cable into a cable ready VCR (they're everywhere). Then use the Video sender/receiver to receive TV from the VCR, and use the Video sender/receiver IR capabilities to change channels on the VCR (hence cable TV on at a non-cable area).
The video sender/receivers can be very useful. I rebroadcast DVD movies from my home theater to other rooms. It can also be a quick and easy way to get basic or cable-box TV to a bedroom if someone is ill. Or even just move a TV to the deck or patio to watch an event. Or have TV (on the old spare small screen) while working in the garage.
