Cable TV
« on: June 09, 2007, 05:52:54 PM »

I have a tv converter for tvs that do not have RCA jacks and was wondering if I having basic cable and no box could hook this up to the X10 and send the signal to my remote tv location and have all my basic channels on that tv.

What you can do.... is feed your NON-cablebox basic cable into a cable ready VCR (they're everywhere). Then use the Video sender/receiver to receive TV from the VCR, and use the Video sender/receiver IR capabilities to change channels on the VCR (hence cable TV on at a non-cable area).

The video sender/receivers can be very useful. I rebroadcast DVD movies from my home theater to other rooms. It can also be a quick and easy way to get basic or cable-box TV to a bedroom if someone is ill. Or even just move a TV to the deck or patio to watch an event. Or have TV (on the old spare small screen) while working in the garage.
