My poll choice was "I'm Too Lazy to Exert That Much Effort."  I think that's the reason.

One of the rail/transit boards I get on won't let guests post anywhere, just read, so the guests either become registered member or go away, since they only want to post spam.

One of the guests who posts here in the areas guests can post (my opinion is guests can read but cannot post. Period) posts on either Chinese or Japanese. There's a post in one of the areas here from somebody who registered  - from a factory in China that makes some kind of security products, I think.  If it's still there while I'm on now, It's history.

I think I was probably the first CO to encounter that Chinese camera factory post, which was duplicated in several categories.  It's not in the same league as the drug and other spams so I decided not to delete it.  I did delete the dupes and move it to its current location (assuming Dan hasn't already deleted it.)

Catch 22...  How do I view the results without skewing the results?

Since I'm not a guest any voting choice would skew the results. However, there doesn't appear to be a way to view the results without voting. So I'm forced into a "Catch 22" unable to see the results unless I alter them. It would of been good to of had the choice "I'm a registered member."

But I have checked messages from work as a "guest" when I was able to get online for a second. I knew I wouldn't have time to reply but gave me time to think about a reply. I could still just click on "Show unread posts since last visit".and it would still show up without having to search for them when I got home!
So I'm a "Guilty One"

I don't think an upgrade will stop guests from posting as that can be implimented now! Few guests post any ways and X10 brass has elected to allow it!(for now) most guest post are spam anyways. AND SOME Like Spam!(as long as they can eat it!)

Sounds like the making of a poll     A good spam sandwich is good for you every 5 or 6 years. (not cooked).

I think guests should only be able to read and not post. Most people who will spam the boards won't take the time to register so they move on which means our CO's can spend more time on other CO things or hang out in the CO lounge drinking coffee rather then tracking down junk to delete.

The ones who register and never post are spammers.  I've deleted 6 posts in the General Discussion Area that had NOTHING to do with X10. Pictches for assorted drugs and sexual aids were dumped.

I really would like to see more posters like Puck , GUEST/LURKER turned NEWBIE participating, without the OT / Monty Python "stuff" that I plan on deleting (or splitting off) at the end of the stated 48 hours. I'd appreciate any help I can get in regards to achieving this goal.  Thanks!
