It'd be great to not be limited to having to hook up to the CM15A with the USB cable.  I'd love it if it could Communicate with Active Home Pro via TCPIP and a wireless network.

Perhaps X10 will develop an interface unit that will do that in the future, but for now, the software that uses the CM15A has to have it connected via the USB cable for communication.  It will run timers and macros that are downloaded if the unit is moved to another outlet away from the PC, but it always has to be connected for downloading new timers or macros.

Thanks... I was aware of that, but to run macros from the PC, it needs to be connected also.  I see D-Link has a network USB hub.  Maybe using that with a WAP will be the answer I'm looking for.  If anyone has tried this, I'd love to hear about it.

Many printers are only able to provide LIMITED Status when connected via a 10/100 Ethernet Print Server.  You might first consider writing to the Print Server Technical Support group (D-Link and Keyspan respectively) and ask if they feel their device can handle the CM15A. [Until X10 Pro #2 arrives, I don't know who could answer the question from the CM15A point-of-view.]

The first RED FLAG that comes to my mind would be "timing issues" - I've already seen my Activity Monitor "dropping" commands when it gets busy.  IIRC, the CM15A still EXECUTES the command - it just doesn't get logged.

Thanks for the tip.  I would definitely try to get as much background on this before dropping $$ into it.  I've read some reviews and most sound very promising.  I'll update if/when I have anything worth reporting.

Again, I can't believe that I'd be the first to think of this.  I'm way too new at X10 stuff.  So if anyone else has already gone down this road, please let me know if I need to make a U-Turn.  Biggest reason to need the PC and  CM15A connected is to take advantage of some of the features of On Alert.

I have often thought it would be useful, but never found a product that would work.  I remember reading about a box that would act as an Eathernet bridge for a CM11A, but it was kind of expensive.  If you do try it out, let us know your results!
