I am seeking a surveillance system for my house and found the X10 products, but I'm totally confused about what I need and don't need to get what I'm looking for. This is what I'm looking from a system, can anyone point me into what items I need to purchase to make this work?
-2 cameras w/ ability to add up to 6: color and night vision
-wireless
-ability to be stored, viewed, and managed on my laptop (new and has USB ports, etc.)
-ability to access remotely
-prefer cameras be activated by motion or able to set a specific schedule for them to turn on
-easy to install without a ton of hassel
I have an idea of what I need, but a few things confuse me, like does the receiver have to be hardwired to the computer or is there a wireless transmitter that can connected that's smaller instead?
Does the XRay software allow viewing all cameras at once, instead having to swicth from one camera screen to the next. Basically, does it do split screens?
What exactly do I need for the motion detection? Is it just software, etc.?
Thanks so much in advace. I just don't want to buy the wrong stuff.
