Understanding Conditions
« on: October 28, 2006, 10:50:19 AM »

After some basic understanding here concerning "conditions".
Let's say that I want to use the "condition" "exactly".  I add that condition to my basic macro that turns on a lamp. The macro unit code is P3. The macro now reads:

Trigger conditions P3 On and
It's exactly 1:00 AM
End Trigger Conditions
Turn LRLamp (H3) On

My questions:
1.  Do I need to somehow "turn P3 On" to get this to run?   If so, how do I set this to eliminate "P3 On and" from the trigger conditions?
2.  Does it matter what house code or unit code i assign to the macro? (Does it need to be the house code of the modules?)

I understand that I could just set up a timer for H3 to do the same thing, but I'm just trying to understand conditional macros.

I think I just answered my own question - something needs to turn a macro on (or off), the condition determines whether or not it runs. I'll still post this in case I'm wrong, or maybe it will help someone else hung up on the same backwards thinking!

TIA
