My Dusk time is 3 hrs off
« on: November 19, 2006, 03:56:06 PM »

I have AHP 3.204. When I set my home location. The time is 3 hrs off. It should read 16:xx and it reads 13:xx. I noticed that the time zone is Pacific Standard Time when it should be Eastern Standard Time. How do I change it?

Go into AHP, TOOLS, HARDWARE CONFIGURATION...

Make sure US & Canada Only box is checked,  then the first drop down box is called LOCATION. Click the arrow and then pick the city closest to you.  Then click SAVE TO INTERFACE and that should do it.

Thanks for the reply. However, I've done all of that to no avail. It does not matter which city I choose, the time zone remains "Pacific Standard Time - GMT-08:00".

Hummm thats odd. I will do some more digging and post back here. Maybe someone else has run into this and will post here as well.

(I would guess moving to the Pacific Standard Time Zone is not an option ;D)

One thing you may want to try is to reset the CM15A. Then go through the steps to set the time and save it to the interface. I have to ask although I'm sure you have done this... the time on the computer is correct? Just to see what happens you can try setting your computer to a different time zone and see if AHP picks up on that.

Hummm thats odd....
Very odd indeed! I also think it's time to unplug the CM15A pull the batteries and then reload. I'm interested to know how this resolves.

Did some testing...
Changing location in AHP has no effect on the time zone. That information must only be used for dusk / dawn calculations.
Changing location on your computer does change the location in AHP.

So I'm betting you'll find that your computer is currently set to Pacific time when you check it as KDR suggested.

KDR, YOU DA MAN!!
I had a system crash recently and I reloaded XP. You were right on the money. I neglected to check the system clock for the correct time zone. DUH!!!!  ;D
Well as they say, "Use Ockham's Razor". It does work.

Thanks again for your help and devotion to this site.

That's Windode for you.  PT is always what is set for. (Microswish is in Redmon, WA).  You'd think the time set option should be in the setup, where you put your name and the license mumber, but NO.

Maybe they'll fix it with Vista.  ;)

Doubt that very much. Windows from 1 on, Windows for Workgroups 3.11/95/98/2000/XP all default on installation to Pacific Time. Since MS has NEVER built an O/S from scratch, Vista will be the same. If you live in any time zone but Pacific, you have to change it.  >:(
