Timer not Working
« on: March 02, 2007, 10:22:41 PM »

Set up two simple timers to control outside lights.  Only one light goes on when both are set for the same time or none come on.  Any ideas to what the problem might be?????

lotus1: Are you using ActiveHomePro? Can you control them both manually via the AHP interface?

Are the lights on the same circuit / phase? You could have a signal integrity issue.

I've never tried 2 different timers set for the same time, so I don't know if AHP has a problem with that.  ???  If you can control them manually via the interface, maybe try one timer to trigger a macro that turns both lights on instead of two separate timers.

Are you dimming the 1st light? If so, follow it with about a 2 sec delay before sending the next command. (AHP bug work around.)

PS. Reread your question. This only applies to AHP macros. Sorry.
AHP should handle timers ok but try setting one a couple minutes later or build a macro to turn them both off, as Puck suggested, if you're using AHP.

I'm using Active Home Pro.  Both lights are on a seperate circuit.  Do you know if the software is capable of turning on groups of lights at the same time.

Within AHP you can turn all lights on for a particular room. You can also turn on all lights for a particular House Code. Or you can set all the lights to the same House & Unit Codes to control them as one.

Other than those methods, the lights would get turned on sequentially.

you might have an issue with the light not beeing on the same phase. I suggest that you look/search problems related to phase on this site.

That was suggested to the OP in the first reply.  ;)
