UR74A-Need help for Viewsat
« on: May 20, 2007, 11:27:42 AM »

Just got the 5-in-1 Universal Remote (UR74A) to replace the remote for my Viewsat Ultra satellite box. There is no listed code for the Viewsat Ultra, and the learning feature on the UR74A does not seem to learn the simple actions (channel up/down, power on/off etc.) on my Viewsat Ultra remote.

Please help me get this remote working.

Be sure to carefully read and follow the directions for programing the remote (sorry.... I know that shouldn't need to be said... but the directions aren't user friendly).

My favorite tip for programing in the learn function: Make sure the room is VERY dark. And play with how far away you hold the teaching remote. You may find a "sweet-spot" some where between touching the remotes together... and six inches away.

Which version of the UR74A do you have?

The one that uses 4 batteries, or the one that uses 2 batteries?
